Extrication
















Hi 3K,





I know I used a really big word as the title to this blog but that was for you to look it up incase you don't know what it means. I had a great day at school today. You can tell when you look at the pictures of what I got to do. It isn't everyday that you get to see how a car is put together by taking it a part in pieces. The pictures are before/after. As you can see there wasn't much left of the car when my class was finished learning how to use the tools. You have probably heard of the jaws of life. Well that is what we were using to cut/pry/tear apart this car. Don't try this at home, epecially breaking car windows.

    How are you doing at fire fighting school who is your instructor? Is it a girl or boy? Does he/her yell a lot?What are you doing today? Is it sunny or rainy at fire fighting school? How late do you stay up? What time do you get up?

    We looked up that big word and we know what it means: to set free. So we quess that you are learning how to set people free from a car fire. Are we right?
    I am reading my first Goosebumps book named "stay out of the basement" I think it is going to be very scarey. -Caleb

    PS-Mrs. Kravetz's class is having a hard time pulling the blog site up from t he computer lab so that might be why 3K doesn't get on much.

    Thank you for letting me know what is going on with 3K. I was worried about them for a bit.
    As for your answers
    ~Sarah, my instructors are guys. They don't yell too much unless you or somebody else does something wrong. I go to bed about 9:30 or 10 pm, and I get up at 5 am. It has been cloudy lately, not to hot which is really nice for us.
    ~Yes Caleb you are correct. To set people free from a car accident. Some places use the fire department crews to get people out of cars when they have accidents. That is why we learned how to use those tools. That is a good book. I think I have read that one and it isn't too scary, but it is scary. Just remember it is makebelieve or fiction. Good luck reading it.
    ~Ellijo a car can catch on fire if it is in an accident or if there is a problem with the engine or something under the hood.
    ~Joey, I was trying to set up a deal for them to get pallets from your Dad's mill but they burn old ones, but you never know. How are you? Are you being a good boy? Only this week and next week then I am back.
    ~Hi Barb, Are you talking about the blue and yellow cables? Those are air hoses for the lifting bags that are underneath the car. They are attached to flat squares that you slide under the car. Then you inflate the squares like a tire and they can lift the car up.

    Hi Ms Pardoe I have to run in a cancer race tomorrow and It is 3.1 miles. I have to get knew glasses next week. Is your job hard? From Noah

    How did you do in your race? 3.1 miles, that sounds like you did a 5K. That is farther than I like to run. New glasses, you broke your other ones already? My job is very hard I work with some great kids that I am looking forward to coming back too. Oh you probably mean school. It isn't as hard as it was. I am learning aircraft firefighting now and that should be fun.
